RetourThe Sardinian Resto-ration of 1815 : This period was to shape the final layout of the town. The wall was breached to provide a passageway connecting the church to the subsequently named "Place de la République" with its harmonious arcades of limestone pillars which remind one of the cities of Cluses, Sallanches, Annecy, Chambéry.
Some examples of this neo-classical style are also to be found in the Town Hall built in 1842, and the Indoor market-place (La Grenette), dating from 1841, with its beautiful pine timberwork set on 4 angle pillars and 12 columns. The renovation of the Town Hall in 1992 has added a new cobbled square. Actually, visitors cannot resist the urge to linger here and admire this beautiful floral setting, and taking home a photographic souvenir.
